The Green Valley Recreation Executive Board had a meeting where they talked about money for the things they want to do. They decided on two budgets: one for regular things they do every year and one for new projects they want to start.

They said they’re going to spend almost $11 million on the regular stuff they do. They also want to charge a bit more money for people who are members. Instead of paying $510 each year, members will now pay $515. Also, if someone wants to become a member, they have to pay $3,000 instead of $2,900.

The boss of Green Valley Recreation, Scott Somers, said they will spend a little bit less money this year compared to last year.

They talked a lot about making a cafe or a coffee shop at the Del Sol Clubhouse. Some people said they don’t want to include this in the budget because they’re not sure if it’s a good idea for Green Valley Recreation to run a restaurant.

The budget for the cafe included money for three full-time workers, $50,000 to start it, and they think it will make $25,000.

Some people in charge said they want to take out the cafe from the budget because they’re not sure if it’s a good idea. Others said members have been asking for it for a long time, so it should stay in the plan.

Finally, they voted to keep the cafe’s plan in the budget but wait before they start working on it.

They also had a plan for new things they want to do in the next five years. But they didn’t agree on everything. Some things weren’t included because they don’t know how much they will cost or where they will be.

They chose seven new projects to spend money on. They said yes to things like making the ceramics room nicer, changing the gym for more sports, improving the lobby, and fixing the locker rooms at Desert Hills. They said no to some projects and lowered the budget for one project because they’re not sure how to do it yet.

They also talked about spending money on security cameras to keep the places safe. Some people disagreed on this. Some said they need cameras everywhere to keep everyone safe, while others said most people don’t want so many cameras.

Finally, they agreed to spend $1.1 million on finishing the Del Sol Clubhouse. This includes fixing the downstairs, parking lot, bathrooms, and stairs inside the building.

But some people didn’t like this idea. They worried that it might end up costing a lot more than they planned, and they want to know exactly where the money is coming from. They also didn’t like that only one company bid on the project.

Right now, people who want to play pool are using the upper level of the building, while people who are more serious about playing pool are using the downstairs.
